Kaamyaab Movie Story

Kaamyaab Movie is being produced under Red Chillies Entertainment & Drishyam Films together and is a simple story of a character artist Sudheer and his journey from ordinary to extra-ordinary.

The set-up of the Kaamyaab Movie is in the era of 80s and 90s, when a yesterday’s year actor who has always played side role or extra roles realises the hidden Extra-ordinary within. In his long career, he has worked in 499 movies and wishes to make his 500th movie special & make record. But the Eureka moment arises when he got retired. He , then wishes to come again with a substantial role  to make a record of doing 500 films. With this 500th movie, Sudheer wishes to become a legend, be remembered always.

A colleague encourages Sudheer to return to work, and occupy the space vacated by Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher, the latter being too busy tweeting, he explains. Sudheer himself likens character actors to potatoes — an adaptable vegetable that can be added to any dish.

But , coming after so many years, he faced a bit of time lag. It becomes tough for him to adjust to the new way of filmmaking. Sudheer slips on a 1970-style wig, flashy shirt, polished shoes, and shades, and swaggers into a casting director Gulati’s (Deepak Dobriyal) office.  Through the audition, casting, and shooting processes, Sudheer fumbles to adjust to new methods of filmmaking.

Sudheer’s interaction with this daughter and granddaughter explains how living with a small-time star becomes so complex & tedious.

Mishra goes from a crumpled has-been to a tender grandfather to a puffed up ,side-hero without skipping a beat. Dobriyal plays the realist (“Purane chawal se rishte banana bada mushkil hai”). Sarika Singh, as Sudheer’s daughter, symbolises the reality check for a man who has lived on the cusp of stardom and is now standing at the precipice of obscurity. However, another track about a young neighbour with a cat is superfluous. And the climax, clearly designed to earn applause, is excessive. The screenplay fumbles when it succumbs to clichés about dependence on alcohol.

Sanjay Mishra has bagged a meaningful content and title role in this movie who himself has played many side roles in numerous films.

This man, too, awkwardly impresses his (mangled) English upon younger strangers; the language is perhaps his way of reminding people that he’s not totally outdated yet. And maybe it’s only right that Sanjay Mishra – a late bloomer who wrenched his breakthrough (Aankhon Dekhi) from the independence of new-age Hindi cinema – plays the role of this hopeful tragic.

Kaamyaab Movie reveals the flip side of the city of dreams, as well as the pockmarks that riddle the bright visage of the hyperactive Hindi movie industry. It does so in an engaging manner that celebrates Hindi cinema’s unsung ‘side actors’ whose careers are unfortunately more about mere numbers than genuine creative highs. They enjoy longevity under the arc lights but little leeway in terms of authentic fame and popularity.

Shah Rukh shared the trailer of the film saying, “Koi role extra nahi hota. Artist extraordinary hona chahiye. Fir banti hai picture Kaamyaab!

Though we don’t see much of Shahrukh Khan , the producer of the movie , these days but he has been involved in many projects as the producer. Apart from Kaamyaab, Shah Rukh is also producing Bob Biswas, a character that was there in Vidya Balan’s movie Kahaani.
